About
Tin Hei Tim Ng is a sound designer and percussionist, currently studying electronic production and design at Berklee College of Music. Inspired by games such as Resident Evil, Hitman, Minecraft and Pokémon, he is currently developing his synthesizing and sampling techniques. He aspires to become a video game sound designer and bring players a high-quality and enjoyable gaming experience.
Born in Hong Kong, Tim has been involved with music since he was young, learning orchestral and Chinese percussion in elementary school and participating in different performances and competitions. During his high school education in Toronto, Tim began experimenting with different music softwares, while simultaneously developing his performance skills. During this time, Tim performed with different styles of bands, developing a reputation as a versatile drummer. At Berklee, he continued his percussion studies with Professor Marko Djordjevic. Deeply influenced by his concepts, Tim’s drumming style became very dynamic and melodic. He studied sound design with Professor Michael Brigida, who further sparked his passion for sound design. Recently, he received the Armand Zildjian Percussion Scholarship from the Berklee Percussion Department, as well as the Shengzheng Zhang “John Towse” Scholarship from the Berklee Electronic Production and Design Department, encouraging him to always reach for the best.
